House Extensions in Farnborough

A well-built extension starts below ground. We carry out the excavation, footings, foundations, drainage and slab work for house extensions in Farnborough, then take the project through to a finished build with steps, patios and landscaping that tie the new space into your garden.

Because we are groundworkers as well as landscapers, the outside of your extension is planned from day one rather than left as an afterthought. Levels, drainage runs, patio thresholds and access are all set out before the first trench is dug.

We work from your architect or designer's drawings and liaise with building control throughout, so each stage is inspected and signed off as the build progresses.

What is included

  • Site clearance, excavation and muck-away
  • Footings, foundations and reinforced concrete slabs
  • Drainage, soakaways and service trenches
  • Single-storey, rear, side-return and wrap-around extensions
  • Steps, thresholds and patios to finish the new elevation

Garden Landscaping in Farnborough

Looking for landscapers near you in Farnborough? We design and build complete gardens, from tired lawns and overgrown plots to finished outdoor spaces with patios, lawns, planting beds, retaining walls, fencing and lighting.

Every project begins with a site visit so we can talk through how you want to use the garden, look at levels and drainage, and put together a clear, itemised quote.

Our team handles the whole build in-house, so you deal with one landscaping company from the first day on site to the final sweep-up.

What is included

  • Garden clearance, levelling and groundworks
  • Patios, paths and paving
  • Turfing, artificial grass and lawn preparation
  • Retaining walls, sleeper walls and raised beds
  • Planting, borders, fencing and garden lighting

Patio Installation in Farnborough

A patio is the hardest-working part of most gardens, so it has to be built properly. Our patio installation in Farnborough starts with excavation and a compacted sub-base, followed by a full mortar bed, correct falls for drainage and clean, consistent jointing.

We install porcelain, Indian sandstone, limestone and slate patios in a wide range of colours and formats, including large-format tiles, random patterns and stepped, split-level designs.

Steps, edging, drainage channels and lighting can all be built into the patio so the finished space works as well as it looks.

What is included

  • Porcelain, Indian sandstone, limestone and slate patios
  • Full excavation, hardcore sub-base and mortar bed
  • Steps, raised patios and split-level terraces
  • Drainage channels, edging and pointing
  • Integrated patio lighting

Garden Paving in Farnborough

Beyond the main patio, good garden paving links the whole space together. We lay paths, side passages, courtyard areas, stepping stones and seating pads in porcelain, natural stone and block paving across Farnborough.

Side returns and access paths are often neglected, but they get daily use. We lay them with proper falls away from the house and tidy, durable edging so they stay level and weed-free.

Where paving meets lawn or planting we use sleeper, brick or steel edging to keep clean lines for years.

What is included

  • Garden paths and side passages
  • Courtyard and seating-area paving
  • Stepping stones set into lawns
  • Brick, sleeper and steel edging
  • Repairs and relaying of sunken paving

Driveway Paving in Farnborough

A new driveway improves the look of your home and adds practical off-road parking. Our driveway paving in Farnborough covers block paving, permeable paving and natural stone driveways, all built on a properly compacted sub-base designed for vehicle loads.

Front-garden drainage rules mean new driveways over five square metres must either be permeable or drain to a lawn or soakaway. We design every driveway to comply, so you do not need planning permission for the surface itself in most cases.

Dropped kerbs, edging, drainage channels and matching paths can all be included in one quote.

What is included

  • Block paving and permeable block paving
  • Natural stone and porcelain driveways
  • Excavation, Type 1 sub-base and compaction
  • Drainage channels, soakaways and edging
  • Driveway extensions and front garden paving

Fencing in Farnborough

Searching for fencing near you in Farnborough? We supply and install closeboard fencing, fence panels, slatted screens, gravel boards and gates, with posts set in concrete for a fence that stays straight.

Old fences are removed and taken away, post holes are dug to the correct depth and every run is set out with string lines so panels are level and evenly spaced.

Fencing is often installed alongside a patio or landscaping project, so boundaries, levels and finishes are coordinated in a single build.

What is included

  • Closeboard (featheredge) fencing
  • Lap, hit-and-miss and slatted fence panels
  • Concrete or timber posts and gravel boards
  • Side gates and driveway gates
  • Removal and disposal of old fencing

Artificial Grass Installation in Farnborough

Artificial grass gives you a green, usable lawn all year round with no mowing, no mud and no bare patches. Our artificial grass installation in Farnborough uses a properly excavated and compacted base, a weed membrane and a sharp-sand laying course, so the finished lawn stays flat and drains freely.

We help you choose the right pile height and colour for how the lawn will be used, whether that is a family garden, a play area, a pet-friendly lawn or a low-maintenance front garden.

Edges are pinned and jointed neatly against patios, paths and borders for a clean finish.

What is included

  • Removal of existing turf and excavation
  • Compacted Type 1 base and sharp-sand laying course
  • Weed membrane and edge fixing
  • Range of pile heights and realistic finishes
  • Pet and child-friendly options

Turfing & New Lawns in Farnborough

For a natural lawn, nothing beats freshly laid turf on properly prepared ground. We strip old grass, level and rotavate the soil, add topsoil where needed and lay quality turf across Farnborough gardens.

Preparation makes the difference between a lawn that thrives and one that dips and dries out. We take the time to get levels and drainage right before a single roll of turf is laid.

What is included

  • Removal of old lawn and weeds
  • Levelling, rotavating and topsoil
  • Quality lawn turf, laid and rolled
  • Lawn edging and stepping stones
  • Aftercare advice for the first weeks

Groundworks & Retaining Walls in Farnborough

Our groundworks service in Farnborough underpins everything else we build. We handle excavation, muck-away, drainage, footings, concrete bases for garden rooms and outbuildings, and retaining walls in brick, block, sleeper or stone.

Sloping gardens are turned into usable, level terraces with properly engineered retaining walls, steps and drainage behind the wall so it stays sound for years.

What is included

  • Excavation, levelling and muck-away
  • Footings, concrete bases and slabs
  • Drainage, soakaways and land drains
  • Brick, block, sleeper and stone retaining walls
  • Bases for garden rooms, sheds and outbuildings
FAQs

Questions about our landscaping and groundworks services

What is the best paving for a patio: porcelain or Indian sandstone?

Porcelain is very hard-wearing, non-porous and easy to keep clean, with a consistent modern look. Indian sandstone is a natural stone with more colour variation and a traditional feel at a lower material cost. Both make excellent patios when laid on a full mortar bed over a compacted sub-base.

Can you do the groundworks for an extension if another builder does the brickwork?

Yes. We regularly carry out excavation, footings, foundations, drainage and slabs for extensions where the client has their own builder for the structure above ground. We can also take the project through to a finished build.

Do you remove old patios, fences and lawns?

Yes. Clearance, breaking out old paving, removing fences and stripping lawns are all part of our service, and waste is taken away from site.

Do you offer garden design as well as landscaping?

We can work from your own plans or a designer's drawings, or help you plan the layout during a site visit. For larger projects we can produce a simple layout so you can see how patios, lawns, planting and levels will fit together.

Is fencing installed with concrete or timber posts?

Both are available. Concrete posts and gravel boards last longest and make panel replacement easy, while timber posts give a cleaner, more natural look. We will recommend the right option for your garden and budget.
